Billy “The Kid” Coffey chisels another top 5 finish on his resume with a 2nd place finish at Paradise Speedway.
Linwood, NY – June 1, 2008
Again, Billy Coffey and the BTK Motorsports team made the trek to Paradise Speedway in search of his first win of the 2008 season.
Coffey started 6th in his heat race and blasted to the runner up spot which would place him on the outside front row for the feature. Coffey and the team made the necessary changes to the car to accommodate the dry slick conditions.
When the green flag flew for the feature, that’s when Coffey’s troubles began. The throttle was sticking. It was a problem that was intermittent but kept happening which was making the car a handful to drive. Coffey was able to hold on and bring the car home in 2nd place.
“The car was loose and I was missing my marks because of the throttle sticking. It would stick then it wouldn’t and it was a real struggle to drive. We’re lucky we even finished the race let alone finish 2nd” Stated Coffey of the night’s feature.
Billy Coffey and the BTK Motorsports team will be racing at Limerock Speedway this Friday and return to Paradise Speedway Saturday.
