Coffey grabs first feature win of the season at Limerock Speedway.
Linwood, NY – June 8, 2008
Billy Coffey’s first 2008 visit to Limerock Speedway was time well spent for the BTK Motorsports team as Coffey grabbed his first feature win of 2008 at the Caledonia New York speedway.
In the heat race Coffey started seventh and worked his way up to third which placed him in the redraw for the feature event. Coffey drew fourth on the starting grid. Coffey got a great start when he blasted to the top side and advanced himself into the runner up spot by lap two. Race leader Kevin Ward had distanced himself from Coffey as he fought by the second and third place cars. Both Ward and Coffey had checked out on the field and Coffey began to hit his marks and started to reel the leader in. It seemed that Ward had used his tires up trying to distance himself from the field and that’s all that Coffey needed. Ward was loose and drifting up the track and Coffey made the pass for the lead and went on to win the feature event by half a straight.
“The car was great and the motor had lots of power and we really hit the set-up tonight. It is so nice to finally have that monkey off our back trying to win our first feature win of the season” stated Coffey.
